Reconciliation Action Plan
A Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is a formal commitment to reconciliation.
It documents how our service will strengthen relationships, respect and opportunities in the classroom, around the service and within the community.
Based around the core pillars of relationships, respect and opportunities, RAPs provide tangible and substantive benefits for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, increasing economic equity and supporting First Nations self-determination.
Our vision for reconciliation at Skye Children’s Co-Operative is to have a clear understanding of the diversity of people within our centre and to honour the teachings, traditions and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We will strive to develop and maintain respectful and positive relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in our community and will respectfully build and extend the knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout our service, with the children and families.
Skye's RAP Working Group meet tri-monthly, to ensure our reconciliation initiatives are being implemented, to share ideas & to discuss reconciliation news
