Out and About Program

Skye Children's Co-Operative’s 'Out and About' program is aimed at augmenting the sense of belonging of children in younger age groups by facilitating the establishment of connections and fostering engagement with their local community.

We recognize the significance of community connections and our educators utilize quad prams to take the children on walks, enabling them to explore and appreciate their local environment, thus extending and complementing their current curriculum.

The activities undertaken during these excursions are tailored to the children's current interests and educational program, and also promote spontaneous learning opportunities. For those who are not yet walking, our educators employ quad prams to take them on similar explorations of their local environment. These excursions entail visits to local landmarks such as Dunvegan Playground, the bus stop, and Watsonia Library, as well as the delightful experience of delivering eggs to our neighbors.
